Five of the Turkish Bankers Running Team raced in the Royal Parks Half Marathon of London on Sunday, 09th Oct 2011.

12,500 runners came from across the UK and 30 countries around the world to race through the streets of London with 40,000 spectators and supporters cheering on the participants.
All runners crossed the finish line within 4 hours rewarded with a medal. Suprising result came from a baker at Waitrose at Tower Bridge, Abdul Farah. He beat three Olympic Gold medalists Nell McAndrew to the finish line and was crowned this year’s winner, with a time of 1:08:39. The first female to cross the line was Tish Jones, who completed the race in 1:23:28.

Within our team the top two were: Caglar Karatas (Director at Tullett Prebon) crossed the finish line with 1:48:39 and Ahmet Dervis (Master in Finance student at London Business School) crossed 01:51:15.

Turkish Bankers Team raced for TBA Hardship Fund – which is being introduced for the disadvantaged Turkish students. We hope to increase this fund through events throughout the year.
